Palm Sunday

I know these posts are backwards, but I forgot to put this one in before. On Palm Sunday, Matt was on call and my mom was on her way down, Matt's mom had left early that morning. So, we ended up doing "church" at our house. The girls felt it was necessary to get dressed up and have hair curled, nails polished and even wanted to put a little lipstick on to "look pretty." I gave in that morning. Here are some of the pictures they wanted me to take after. They are such hams!

Easter Sunday

Our first Easter with the twins was not necessarily what we had hoped in the regards that Isaac is still in the hospital. But, many have reminded me that this will be a faint memory next year when they are eating plastic Easter grass and we are trying to keep them quiet in church. Sophia went to church for the first time yesterday. It was very special too at the end of the service Vicar said, "We don't make it a habit to welcome each person when they attend for their first time, but this is someone who we have been praying for for months, please welcome Sophia Provenzano." Everyone clapped and it was such a warm feeling to once again feel surrounded by love and prayers of those in our congregation. Here are some pictures from our Easter Sunday.

Tattoos

Grammy Kathryn and Papa Art had brought some temporary tattoos and we all put them on including Mimi (Matt's mom) and Grammy Kathryn. Here is a picture of the tattooed girls!

Cool pictures from Shedd Aquarium

When Matt and the girls went to Chicago they went to Shedd Aquarium. I have posted some cool pictures that Grace took. They really loved the turtles and the sting rays. While in Chicago, they also went to the Lincoln Park Zoo. One night Matt took them to eat at an Indian restaurant. It was a little bit fancier and they thought they were pretty cool. The owner thought they were "pretty cute" so he gave them all the mango smoothies they wanted. We need to work with them on etiquette though on fancy restaurants as Grace apparently was all loud when they were walking in and said, "Dad look at these napkins, they are funny they don't even look like napkins." They were just folded extra fancy and sitting on the plates. Elizabeth loved riding the trains and buses most of all and was sure to tell me over and over the exact route they took so that they could ride four trains and three buses. "Mom, you have to go left and than right and than wait for the one bus and than you walk to the train and you have to go left and right and it was a long, long, long, long train ride." Matt took them way out of their way to maximize the bus and train rides, in fact they rode way north just so they could go south. They had a nice daddy daughter weekend. Thanks again Aunt Jodi for letting them crash at your place!

One Sunday at the Park

Another little bit of normalcy. We had a picnic lunch and played at the park one Sunday afternoon after visiting Isaac and Sophia at the hospital.

Painting

Just to show you that we have tried to keep some sense of normalcy...Matt had vacation and he painted some rooms. Here are the girls helping out. Okay, well Grace is helping out, Elizabeth is just dancing!:)

Detour to Iowa

Grammy Kathryn and Papa Art came back from Florida a few weeks ago and made an eight hour detour to spend a couple of nights here in Iowa. Here are some pictures of them meeting Sophia and Isaac as well as one with Grace and Elizabeth when they treated us to lunch!:)

A visit from Carly, Collin, Aunt Katie and Papa Jack

Aunt Katie, Papa Jack, Collin and Carly came to visit a couple of weeks ago. Here are some pictures from that visit. We had lots of fun flying kites, making crazy ice cream sundaes and dying Easter eggs. We miss you guys and are so glad you made the long trip out here!

The Chicks at Hills Bank

So a tradition in the spring here in Iowa, is to go to the bank to see the baby chicks. Here are some pictures of the girls doing this a couple of weeks ago.
